BISE Kohat, or Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Kohat, came into existence on January 19, 2002, with the appointment of Brigadier (Retd.) Talat Imtiaz Naqvi as Founding Chairman. On the same day, plots of land were bought in an area close to Kohat University of Science and Technology.
On January 19, 2022, Brigadier (Retd) Talat Imtiaz Naqvi was appointed Founding Chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Kohat with a government order.
The Board began operating from temporary offices at KDA Kohat. In the meantime, fifty acres of land were purchased at the intersection of Indus Highway and Kohat University of Science and Technology.
